Propietat del Restaurant Costa Brava

Welcome to Restaurant Costa Brava

In 1961, Ramón and Quimeta opened a small restaurant in Sa Riera which, back then, was just a quiet bay with a scattering of fisherman’s houses. The couple were looking for a quieter life and it offered, in those days, the chance to cook authentic Empordanes food. Traditional home cooking made with time-honoured techniques and, above all, with love.

In those days, large-scale tourism was yet to arrive so most of Restaurant Costa Brava’s customers were neighbours from Begur and the surrounding areas or visitors from Barcelona.

The couple had three children, Yuppi, Neus, and Quimet. In time, they took over the management of the restaurant whilst always striving to maintain its traditional Empordanes feel. Quimet embarked on a lifelong mission to achieve culinary excellence without forgetting his roots. Using quality fresh produce, he retained regional traditions and even revived some old recipes, such as arros a la catalana (Catalan rice stew), a dish as delicious as it was unknown.

Cooking with locally-sourced ingredients

Almost 60 years later and we’re still here. Serving the same quality and authenticity with exquisite professional service.

But what really makes us different is our commitment to using locally sourced “Kilometre 0” ingredients. Every day, we buy our fish from the fish market at Palamós and source our meat from Girona producers. Wherever possible we choose home- grown ingredients so that, even today, we offer you an evolved version of the Empordà region’s cuisine. A cuisine rooted in tradition yet refined by the best of 21st Century cooking. A restaurant for any time of day, from morning until the last drink of the evening.

Our home is your home. We hope to see you soon.
